By Plane: Telluride, Colorado has its own airport, Telluride Regional Airport (TEX). The airport is located five miles from Telluride’s downtown business district and is the highest altitude commercial airport in the country. Great Lakes Aviation, United Airlines, and Frontier Airlines serve Telluride Regional Airport. Other incoming flights vary from different locations and change seasonally. Typically, passenger planes into Telluride are 19-seat airplanes. The airport also accepts private planes and charters. The Montrose Regional Airport is located 65 miles from Telluride/Mountain Village and is the airport of choice for most visitors. American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, and United Airlines all serve the airport. The airport offers non-stop and connecting service through Denver, Chicago, Newark, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Phoenix, and Los Angeles. By Car: From Denver, CO, approx. 6 hours, 30 mins Take I-70 West for 225 miles towards Grand Junction, Colorado. Take Exit 37 to merge onto I-70 Business Loop toward Clifton/Grand Junction. After 1.7 miles, turn left onto CO-141/32 RD. Drive 5.5 miles and turn left onto US-50 E. Follow US-50 E for 54.3 miles. Continue onto US-550 S for 26.2 miles and turn right onto CO-62 W/Sherman St. After 23.3 miles, turn left onto CO-145 S for 15.5 miles. Take the second exit through the first and second traffic circles to continue onto W. Colorado Avenue in Telluride. From Salt Lake City, UT, approx. 7 hours Follow I-15 S for 50 miles. Take Exit 258 for US-6 E. Continue for 128 miles and continue onto I-70 E for another 24 miles. Take Exit 182 for US-191 S. After 54 miles, turn left onto UT-46 and continue for 56 miles. Turn right onto CO-90 and after 22 miles, turn left onto Grand Avenue. Continue through Norwood and after 18 miles, turn right on CO-145 S for 15.5 miles. Take the second exit through the first and second traffic circles to continue onto W. Colorado Avenue in Telluride. From Albuquerque, NM, approx. 6 hours, 30 mins Take US-550 N for 183 miles into Colorado. In Durango, Colorado, turn left onto US-160 W. After 28 miles, turn right onto N. Main Street, CO-184 in Mancos, Colorado. Follow CO-184 for 18 miles and turn right onto US-145 N. After 63 miles, turn right onto CO-145 N. Drive past Mountain Village and take the first exit in the traffic circle towards Telluride. Take the second exit in the second traffic circle to continue onto W. Colorado Avenue in Telluride. From Phoenix, AZ, approx. 8 hours, 45 mins Take I-17 N for 140 miles. Take Exit 340A for I-40 E. After 5.6 miles, take Exit 201 toward Page. Turn left onto N Country Club Drive and follow for 0.5 miles. Turn right onto US-89 and follow for 63 miles. Turn right onto US-160 and follow for 154 miles. Turn left onto US-160 just before the Four Corners region. Follow for 25 miles and turn left onto US-160. Follow for 20 miles and keep right on W. Main Street in Cortez, CO. Turn left onto CO-145 N and follow for 71 miles. Drive past Mountain Village and take the first exit in the traffic circle towards Telluride.
