Black Hills
Activities
If you’re looking for things to do on your vacation in the Black Hills and Badlands of South Dakota, you won’t be disappointed! In fact, you may be surprised to find so much, you’ll need extra time just to see it all!Transportation
Driving: The South Dakota Department of Transportation keeps all highways servicing the Black Hills region in excellent driving condition, ever during the more severe winter months. Interstate 90 is the main route for driving to the Black Hills, but you can also enter the area on east-west highways US 16, US 18, US 212, SD 34 or SD 40. North-south highways are US 85, US 385 and SD 79. Flying: Rapid City, South Dakota - Rapid City Regional Airport is located ten miles east of the city of Rapid City, South Dakota. Allegiant Air, American Eagle, Delta Airlines, SkyWest, Frontier Airlines, and United Airlines provide service to and from Rapid City. Billings, Montana - Billings Logan International Airport is the regional hub for three major airlines, Delta, Northwest and United. It is one of the major airports that provide accessibility to the Black Hills region of South Dakota. Sioux Falls, South Dakota – Sioux Falls Regional Airport is a joint civil and military use airport located three miles northwest of the central business district of Sioux Falls. The airport is considered to be an International Port of entry for the Black Hills Region.Food & Drink
Whether you choose from one of the dozens of casual dining eateries or prefer a more upscale fine dining atmosphere, we offer an outstanding variety of restaurants, cafes, chuckwagons and supper clubs. Because the Black Hills is a vacation area, dining ambience here is casual and informal. There is not a single restaurant that would presume to require you to wear a coat and tie. A better choice would be a golf shirt and slacks or a nice blouse and fashion jeans.Read more
