Additional information

You will enjoy the same seaside community as you would find a few miles south on Cape Cod, but this 'upper Cape' allows you to start your vacation earlier without sitting in hours of 'Cape' traffic.

It also allows for quick trips into downtown Boston to enjoy the night life and is approximately 8 mi from the historic Plymouth Rock, Mayflower, and many quaint shops and historic sites.

Outdoor amenities include: large deck and front porch to enjoy the ocean breezes, a gas grill, an outdoor shower with hot and cold water, a large back yard and off street parking for 3 vehicles.

Inside you will appreciate an open floor plan, cable TV, wireless internet, and a land line.

Two and 1/2 baths, washer & dryer, and central air and heat are just a few of the amenities you will find.

The open living and dining areas are on the main level with a modern fully equipped kitchen and stainless steel appliances and all of the conveniences of home plus a half bath/utility room.

The completely furnished walkout basement includes a den area with TV, full bath with shower, and 4th bedroom with a queen bed.

The second story offers a master bedroom with queen bed, and two additional bedrooms with queen and double respectively, along with a full bath with tub/shower. The home sleeps 8 privately.

This vacation rental is available all four seasons.

Of course the summer offers all of the outdoor and water activities you can imagine, but fall in New England brings bright and colorful foliage which comes earlier than in other regions.

The winters are cold but less extreme for this coastal region with average temps above freezing even in January.

Snow and skiing are less than 1 hour away at Blue Hills Ski Area in Milton, northwest of Plymouth. Spring brings a time of refreshing and exploring the wonders of the area.

Manomet Beach

Manomet Beach

Activities

ActivitiesToday, Manomet is known for its Independence Day celebrations, which actually take place one day early, on the 3rd of July. The celebrations usually consist of private bonfires, fireworks, and a typically family oriented crowd. Manomet's July 3 celebration of Independence Day extends back to the 1800s, when residents burned scrap and driftwood on the beach.

Tradition dictates that these bonfires be extinguished by the rising tide, so depending on the moon, the festivities may extend well into the night, or end relatively early. The 3rd of July celebrations are featured in a song called "Manomet (On The 3rd Of July)" written by longtime Manomet resident Tedd Rodman.

Transportation

TransportationTravelers can get around Plymouth County using the public bus system (GATRA) and they will generally find that it is relatively easy to reach major local tourist attractions in the surrounding area via this method of transport.

The American Public Transportation Association, also known as APTA, is the governmental organization which runs the bus system in the area. Buses run from Plymouth to other locations in the city.

During the summer, America's Hometown Shuttle runs daily connecting popular destinations in downtown Plymouth and nearby areas. America's Hometown Shuttle is a narrated sightseeing tour that departs from the downtown waterfront area and connects to P&B and GATRA buses as well.
