Additional information

The Song of the Jungle is secluded , private and very quiet. It is an 'ohana' cottage unit built at the far side of the main house so is tucked away, safe and cosy.

It has it's own entrance and privacy including private garden areas. It looks out onto the jungle, gardens and extensive unobstructed mountain and valley views.

It is ideal for one or two persons or a family with a child. It is comprised of about 1000 sq ft and has four rooms plus 2 lanais. There is a large bedroom/sitting area with a queen bed.

French doors lead from the bedroom out onto a separate enclosed lanai that overlooks the valley and jungle. This enclosed lanai has a bistro table for romantic dining and daybed for those who wish to sleep watching the stars.

The kitchen area is medium sized with a full fridge, hotplate and toaster oven. It has an enclosed outdoor lu'au area as well with a BBQ and propane cook stove/oven.

The indoor bathroom has a shower but no tub. There is also a privately located outdoor tigerwood shower in the garden area. The kitchen looks out onto the extensive garden area.

The 'Song' is 1/4 mile from a grocery store hub, sushi girl takeout, gift store and beachfront.

The Song of the Jungle is a quiet and peaceful world that lives up to its name. You wake up to a symphony of tropical birds mingled with the distant sounds of the river below and the ocean waves breaking .

The enclosed lanai is a wonderful place to enjoy your morning breakfast surrounded by the tropical gardens and unobstructed mountain and valley views where white egrets glide midst the palms.

A 1/4 mile walk down the county lane takes you to the corner grocery store , sushi girl takeout, and beautiful Wainiha Beach.

A quick drive or a 20-30 minute walk will get you to some of the best beaches in the world: Tunnels, Ke'e, Lumahai! as well as the famous Kalalau Trail.

Activities

ActivitiesA Kauai vacation can offer it all! An outdoor adventure sailing the Napali Coast or ziplining above Kauai’s lush valleys. A romantic escape to amazing beaches and luxurious resorts.

A cultural journey discovering authentic hula, exploring Hawaiian fishponds and learning about Kauai’s most historic places, or maybe just a quiet horseback ride in the pastures of Princeville.

Transportation

TransportationKauai’s main airport is Lihue Airport (LIH) in southeastern Lihue. Many airlines now offer non-stop service to Kauai. There is also the option of flying into Honolulu International Airport (HNL) on Oahu first and then heading to Kauai.

Ground transportation on Kauai includes rental cars, hotel shuttles and taxis. Several companies provide guided tours aboard motor coaches, mini-buses, vans, 4-wheel drive vehicles and limousines. Shuttles and tours are also available, though stops will be limited.

Kauai also has limited bus service, but if you’re planning to really explore the island, it’s best to rent a car to keep your schedule flexible. Kauai's a circular island and one major highway nearly circles it, beginning in Lihue and going north, Kuhio Highway (Hwy. 56) goes to Kee Beach past Hanalei. Going to the West Side, Kaumualii Highway (Hwy. 50) travels to Kekaha. Every major rental car company is represented here.

Food & Drink

Food & DrinkDining on Kauai ranges from fine cuisine in world-class resorts to local favorites in the island’s small towns. You can sample Hawaii Regional Cuisine at various restaurants including Merriman’s Poipu or Roy’s Poipu Bar & Grill on the South Shore.

Peter Merriman and Roy Yamaguchi are two of twelve original chefs behind the Hawaii Regional Cuisine movement and both have been recognized by the James Beard Foundation.
