The 720 acre lake with a clean public beach and stunning view of the Blue Ridge mountain range and Chimney Rock are the main attraction. Lake Lure is a great family destination with plenty of opportunities for swimming, canoeing/kayaking, fishing, hiking and rock climbing. Golf courses include Apple Valley, Bald Mountain and the public Lake Lure Municipal Golf Course.

Lake Lure is located 25 miles southeast of Asheville on North Carolina Senic Byway, Hwy. 74-A. The Asheville regional airport is a destination for Allegiant, Delta, United and US Airways.

Pizzerias, Italian restaurants, Bar and Grills, Mexican food and a Tiki Bar are also available within the community. Area vineyards and wineries include the Biltmore Estate, Mountain Brook Vineyards, Overmountain Vineyards and Parker-Binns Vineyard. Additionally, tours and tastings are available at Blue Ridge Distilling.
