Jalisco
Jalisco is a state located in Western Mexico that is credited as the birthplace of many traditional Mexican cultural traits — at least those considered traditional outside of Mexico — including mariachi, ranchera music and tequila. The capitol city is Guadalajara. As of the 2012 census, Jalisco had a population of 7,554,931.
