Mexico is the fifth-largest country in the Americas — comprised of North and South America — with 31 states and the capital city, which is a federal district. Mexico is bordered to the north by the United States, to the west and south by the Pacific Ocean, to the east by the Gulf of Mexico and to the southeast by the Caribbean Sea, Guatamala and Belize.
